Before you start worrying about your lack of plans for Labor Day weekend in Los Angeles you should probably consider what is really important to you. You need food. You need drink. Therefore you need THE TASTE.

This Labor Day weekend in Los Angeles THE TASTE put together by the Los Angeles Times brings together a gastronomic event that is as diverse as the city itself. The events will be held at Paramount Studios Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

THE TASTE takes place September 1-3, 2012 and guests will be able to experience, taste, sip and devour all that is great about the Los Angeles culinary scene as well as some of the best culinary talents from across the country. This is a 3-day extravaganza of food, wine, education and Los Angeles.

A few events at THE TASTE you should be getting excited for:

  • Field to Fork – An afternoon made for true foodies and home cooks. Russ Parsons, The Times’ Food Editor, hosts an event inspired by fresh, local ingredients and the pleasure of cooking seasonal dishes.
  • Dinner and Drinks – The ultimate night out for those who appreciate pairing a signature dish with an artisanal brew, custom cocktail or fine wine. Betty Hallock, Times Deputy Food Editor, hosts an evening of inspired tastings and conversations. Co-hosted by “The Beer Chicks,” Christina Perozzi and Hallie Beaune.

THE TASTE will be held at Paramount Pictures Studios Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3. Unlimited food and drink tastings from more than 40 of the area’s top restaurants, cooking and mixology demonstrations, wine seminars and panel discussions will be featured at each event. Early-bird ticket pricing, $50 per event, ends August 6. Beginning August 7, tickets will be $65 in advance, $75 at the door.
